The Duquesne Young Artists National Competition consists of three divisions.Students may compete in one, two, or all three divisions. Separate registration materials and fees are required for students participation in multiple divisions.
Performance Awards
Open to piano and strings ages 7-18. This competition provides competition experience for students whom are not yet ready to compete on a national level. Multiple winners are selected.
Solo Division
Open to piano and strings, ages 7-18. This competition is appropriate for accomplished students, students ready to compete on a national level. Multiple winners are selected from various age groups.
Chamber Division
Open to duets, trios, or quartets of any instrumentation. Applicants may be up to 18 years old. There will be two winning groups selected. Applicants will not be seperated by age.
Concerto Division
Open to all instruments ages 7-18. This is our most advanced competition and is appropriate for students whom are ready to perform with a symphony orchestra. One winner is selected and is invited to perform with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
